Apart from this breath-taking variety, the disc also presents some excellent artists such as Benny Goodman, Maurice Ravel, Ernest Bloch and the cantor Rosenblatt, and new recordings of classical songs including My Yiddishe Momme, Bei Mir Bist du Sch”n and Gefile Fish. In the book of liner notes, Claude Fihman explained ‘This panorama of Yiddish music is by no means exhaustive, but aims to instigate reissues of sound documents so they are available for the general public’.
